The Supply of Medicines & Repeat Prescriptions

If your pet requires any medication, this can be dispensed at the practice, or we can provide you with a written prescription. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or where immediate treatment is necessary.

As your veterinary surgeon we may only prescribe medicines for animals under our care. This means that we must examine your animal before prescribing any medicine.

Should your pet require repeat medication for an ongoing condition, our general policy is to reassess the animal every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances.

A re-examination charge of £21.85 will apply.
Further information about the cost of medicines is available upon request.

Please give us 48 hours’ notice when ordering repeat prescriptions. Medicines not held in stock need to be ordered in and then authorised by a Veterinary Surgeon. Controlled drugs need to be specially ordered and may take up to 72 hours to arrive.
