Fees & Estimates
There is obviously a cost for all the services and medicines we provide for your animals. We always endeavour to provide these as competitively as possible whilst maintaining the high standards of clinical practice you would expect.
Please speak to our receptionist or to the vet examining your animal to discuss costs at any time.
Estimates of cost can be provided in advance of any treatment, however during complicated procedures or where investigations are on-going it may be difficult to estimate the final cost. We will always discuss the options and costs with you at every stage of your animals treatment.
To help to keep costs down we do always ask for payment at the time of treatment. We accept most major credit or debit cards and cash. Please make all cheques out to: BELLE VUE VETS LIMITED
If your animal is insured we will complete claim forms, provide invoices and clinical history in order for you to reclaim any money due from your insurance company. However, due to the time that this takes we do make a small charge for this.
Please speak to our practice manager if you are experiencing financial difficulties before the start of any treatment.
Supply of Medicines & Repeat Prescriptions
If your pet requires any medication this can be dispensed at the practice or we can provide you with a written prescription. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or where immediate treatment is necessary.
As your veterinary surgeon we may only prescribe medicines for animals under our care.
This generally means that we must examine your animal before prescribing any medicine.
Should your pet require repeat medication for an on-going condition, the general policy of the practice is to reassess the animal every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The usual consultation charge will apply.

Emergencies & House Visits
If you require veterinary assistance at any time please call 016973 42174.
During office hours you will be given appropriate advice and arrangements will be made for a veterinary surgeon to see your animal.
Outside office hours our answering service will take a message - including your name, address, contact telephone number, the animals details and the problem. They will pass it on immediately to the duty veterinary surgeon who will then contact you with any advice or make arrangements to examine your animal.
We are able to make house, farm and stable visits to examine your animal. For large animals particularly cattle and horses visits are the norm, both for safety reasons and due to the difficulties in transporting sick or injured animals. In most circumstances, for sick and injured small animals we will be better equipped to deal with the problem at the practice. Please bear this in mind before asking for a home visit.

The Practice Manager will investigate the problem and try to rectify it promptly but if that is not possible, you will be told how long it will take and when you will be contacted. Your complaint will be dealt with in the strictest confidence and within the guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulations.
If you are not happy with the Practice Manager’s resolution, you should write to ‘The Directors’ at the above address.
If you are still unhappy after the director’s final resolution, you are then free to contact other agencies such as The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or the Financial Ombudsman.
